KESHI name derived from poppy seeds.The whole industry thoughout the world has recognizecd this as it's name.

In the olden times only the small ones were called KESHI but today the name KESHI is used for any pearl that is a sea water pearl,has no nucleus,and is made without the help of human hands.

■The diffarence with the Chinese fresh water pearl
The biggest difference with the Chinese fresh water pearls is that KESHI PEARL productions is a sea water pearl and is only around 1 to 2% of AKOYA PEARLS,but the fresh water pearls are made in 300-500 tons.

Due to no nucleus making it mostly nacre and also that it made in the sea water. The main reason also being that it can take up to 7years to form.。

But in the case of KESHI PEARLS it is more so as most of the farms are using machinery lately to take out pearls and there fore the smaller KESHI automatically are getting discarded.

A long time ago India used to trade spice with Iraq and receive pearls as one of the goods being berterd. These pearls were then drilled and produce into lewelry in India in order to be sold to all the MAHARAJAS of India and the royal families of the middle east.
